Description

The Orchestra CE belongs to Cordoba’s Fusion series, a line of high quality crossover or hybrid style nylon string guitars designed to play and feel like steel string acoustics. Most notably, the necks are carved thinner than traditional Spanish-style “classical” guitars and have a nut width of 48mm or 1 7/8”. With the option of 12 or 14 frets to the body on most models, these slimmer dimensions combined with a radiused fingerboard give the Fusion series the feel and playability that most steel string and electric guitar players are used to. Tonally the Fusion series models have all the warmth, body, and resonance that traditional “classical” nylon string guitars are known for, and are built using traditional Spanish guitar methods like domed soundboards and fan bracing patterns in the design. The Orchestra CE is built with the classic combination of a solid Canadian cedar top and Indian rosewood back and sides. The neck has 12 frets to the body and an ebony fingerboard. The bridge and headstock overlay are made of rosewood, and the rosette is hand inlaid using maple and rosewood rings. With mahogany binding and a high gloss PU finish, the Orchestra CE is the perfect blend of traditional materials with modern aesthetic touches. It comes equipped with the Fishman Presys Blend pickup, and includes a deluxe Cordoba gig bag. Solid Canadian cedar top, Indian rosewood back and sides, 16” radiused ebony fingerboard, Indian rosewood bridge, maple binding, natural high gloss PU finish, 48mm nut width, 650mm scale length, Fishman Presys Blend pickup, Savarez Corum Alliance strings (500AJ), includes deluxe Cordoba gig bag. Also available with a solid spruce top (Orchestra CE SP). This pickup offers the ability to blend an internal microphone with an under saddle piezo. For large stages where feedback can be a problem, we recommend setting the “mic blend” knob at 0 (all the way to the left), which turns the mic input down and uses mainly the under saddle piezo. This setting is the least prone to feedback. The mic is to be used as a subtle flavor to add air and ambiance to the sound, and can be rolled on carefully, but using it will add to the possibility of feedback. Additionally, there is a small trim control (accessible when you open flip open the preamp). This control governs the overall gain of the mic. It’s a good idea to adjust it so that at maximum mic blend it’s slightly softer than the pickup signal. The ultimate hybrids, Cordoba’s Fusion Series merges the traditional Spanish fan bracing and Spanish heel construction with the thinner neck profile, radiused fretboard, and fast action generally associated with steel-string guitars. Featuring a variety of wood combinations, most Fusions are acoustic-electric, and most are available with either 12 or 14 frets to the body. Whether you’re a steel string or electric player looking to branch out into the nylon world, or a nylon player looking for a less traditional guitar, you’ll love the easy playability and fantastic tones provided by the Fusion series. All models include two-way truss rods and Savarez Corum Alliance strings that offer the higher tension feel that most crossover players are looking for. Cordoba’s Fusion series was first to effectively merge the feel of a steel string with the tone of a “classical” guitar, and offers the most comprehensive line of crossover style nylon string hybrids on the market. Solid Canadian cedar top with Indian rosewood back and sides 48mm nut width with comfortable 16” radiused ebony fingerboard Fishman Presys Blend Pickup Lightweight, two-way truss rod built into the neck Savarez Corum Alliance strings in High Tension, 500AJ Includes Cordoba gig bag Founded in 1997, Cordoba seeks to guide the evolution of the nylon string guitar, blending traditional craftsmanship of the early master luthiers with modern developments. Inspired by the organic beauty and honesty of acoustic instruments, every Cordoba is lightweight, responsive, and a direct descendant of the Spanish tradition. Cordoba continues to challenge the definition of the acoustic guitar without sacrificing the authenticity of its heritage.
